Road to Buntot-Palos Falls

There was never an easy climb. This I tell you. It drains your energy to the point that you just wanna back out. You sweat buckets, you scratch your arms/legs from wild plants and stray logs. You slip and fall [I did two times], and it's literally pain in the ass. You lose your composure, your BB cream-painted face will surely be glistening from sweat. You drink water like your very life depends on it, and you just wish you never have that heavy backpack thinking that it will ease up the hike a little. Your legs will hurt like it's beating from within and every other step taken decreases your already draining energy. Yes, there's drama in hiking. ahaha..
But upon setting my eyes on this magical view, I seem to forget all those qualms instantaneously. BUNTOT-PALOS FALLS is magical and surreal. My penchant for waterfalls never fails to give me this kind of high. The climb is more than worth it. The cold water worked its magic on me. It's like it drowns my muscle pains away. I'm no swimming expert [far from it actually], but we braved the deep water, slippery stones, and the deep water again. Hahaha.. The water current is insane, it has its own power pushing you and shoving you down. I sometimes would like to think that there's just someone from up top holding a huge water hose giving us experience of a lifetime, but it's not. It's His works, and He never disappoints as always. I wish we have something like this on our backyard and every time the crazy summer heat strikes, we can easily take a dip and refresh ourselves. Well, how convenient, isn't it? Fantasies, I know.

But what also pushed me step by step are these peeps. Kahiyaan na kasi.. ahaha.. My competitive self thinks, "Aba, nakakahiya naman kung mapag-iwanan ako masyado ng mga 'to" Plus talking to them as I embrace to those wood railings and trees so I won't slip, sometimes joking even, makes you forget the time and the next thing you know you're accomplishing station by station. We are not professional hikers, but I think we aced this one. Every successful hike gives your that ultimate bragging right to say, "Oh, I've been there, baby!" [insert smug face here]

And oh, Happy 5th to these two. It's their 5th wedding anniversary hence this adventure with the fambam. And the all-expense paid trip is more than appreciated. I love you both ng extreme na extreme!!

I would like to think that I shed a pound or two after this trip. Ahahaha..
Anyway, the climb up top can be really rewarding because of the waterfall awaiting you there. But going back down is a whole different story. It's faster though, but it's like reliving the drama all over again. The sweat, the muscle pain, the I'm-gonna-die spiels. Ahaha.. And this is not to scare anyone who plans to do this in the future, BABY, IT'S REALTALK. ahahaha
Climb at your own risk. Like what Miley said,
Ain´t about how fast I get there
Ain´t about what´s waiting on the other side
It´s the climb!!
